Service Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;font-size:12pt"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>The 250 mg/L isochlor is mapped for all SFWMD coastal counties (except Miami-Dade which is updated by USGS) and updated every five years. The line marks an approximation of the farthest inland extent of the saltwater interface as defined by the 250 mg/L chloride concentration and/or the farthest inland extent of saline surface water. The isochlor is based on the maximum chloride value for the period of March/April/May for each respective year, with minor exceptions. Well and chloride data were obtained from USGS and SFWMD records. The chloride wells used for this project are compiled in a separate web layer called, Chloride Concentration Control Points. These datasets are developed to support of the SFWMD's Climate Change Initiative and were last updated in 2018/2019 in support of the SFWMD's Saltwater Interface Mapping Project. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P><P><SPAN>The line features in Miami-Dade county are produced by the USGS and represent an approximate inland extent of the saltwater interface along South Florida's East Coast over time. The approximate saltwater interface is defined by the1,000-mg/L isochlor at the base of the Biscayne Aquifer. These datasets were originally obtained from the USGS and then merged into a single feature class to combine the years dating back to 1904. </SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
